Sandra Janis, age 77, of Lake Forest, Illinois passed away at her home surrounded by family on June 28, 2024.
Sandra was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Rudolph and Felicia (Brzykcy) Galko. She graduated as salutatorian from Cudahy High School and attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
On November 17th, 1962, on her 16th birthday, Sandy went to a dance and met the love of her life, Allan Janis. They dated until they married on July 22, 1967. They bought their first house in Cudahy and welcomed their first child in 1971. A job change for Allan took them to Schaumburg, Illinois in 1972 where they continued to live until 2010. While in Schaumburg they welcomed a second daughter and were involved with various social groups and activities. They were communion ministers and greeters as well as marriage sponsors for St. Marcelline Church where they enjoyed guiding young couples through this sacrament.
